This surge in demand increases complexity of connected ecosystems, requiring MNOs to adopt adaptable, scalable, and modern platforms which enable them to deploy new services, implement software updates seamlessly, and enhance security measures over the air (OTA).
Experience unparalleled scalability and security with Valid’s OTA Suite platform, designed to meet the evolving demands of the market and ensure uninterrupted connectivity for subscribers.
Valid’s OTA platform empowers Connectivity Providers to remotely update classic SIMcards, eSIMs, and other secure elements (iSIM and M2M modules) in real-time across their network. This involves securely reconfiguring mobile devices when they connect to the network, ensuring the best user experience and quality of service (QoS). These updates also unlock diverse 5G use cases such as connected cars, IoT, and private networks.
Our solution is designed to support a wide range of secure elements, including classic SIMs, 5G SIMs, M2M/IoT SIMs, and eSIMs.
This can be achieved through various types of remote management, such as Remote File Management (RFM) and Remote Applet Management (RAM), facilitating provisioning and activation via push SMS or HTTP polling.
Our platform supports Connectivity Providers to remotely access, refresh and update their SIMcards over-the-air, while also managing device connectivity across all networks, including 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G.
Valid’s OTA Suite supports a variety of campaign scenarios, whether targeting a card fleet to update the same content across all cards or supporting batch updates with personalized content for each card. Valid’s OTA is highly flexible and adaptable.
Allows MNOs to either read or write content to their SIM/eSIM/iSIM files (also known as Elementary File – EF), for example, to update images or make batch changes to thousands of cards at once.
Enables the download, activation, deactivation, and the exclusion of JAVA applets from a SIMcard.
Typically, OTA services are very transparent to the end customer. In a few specific use cases, end customers might be informed – via a simple SMS or SAT browsing messaging channel – about the executed service for the user’s convenience and they can also opt-in and out of visible services as a standard feature.
An alternative to OTA services is the physical replacement of SIMcards. However, SIM replacements add significant production, logistical and distribution costs to Connectivity Providers and it is not a user-friendly solution to consumers.
Therefore, one of the biggest value propositions of OTA lies in its ability to enable Connectivity Providers to avoid the necessity of SIM replacement. This ensures that the current SIMcards actively used by millions of subscribers remain up to date, thereby securing the Operators’ network and elevating customer satisfaction, ensuring seamless connectivity for subscribers.
In order to make a significant difference and bring a real benefit to our environment and planet, Valid decided to create, together with Plastic Bank, an environmental compensation program.
Plastic Bank is a social enterprise empowering a regenerative society. They build ethical recycling ecosystems in coastal communities and reprocess the materials for reintroduction into the global supply chain as Social PlasticTM.
Their collectors receive a compensation for the materials they collect which helps them to provide basic family necessities such as groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, and health insurance.
Their certified blockchain platform secures the entire transaction and provides real-time data visualization – allowing for transparency, traceability, and rapid scalability.
With this goal, Plastic Bank is relying on companies like Valid to support the collection process of the plastic in order to:
Mitigate the impact of many corporations and potentially reduce, offset or decrease the plastic footprint of their operations.
Improve the social and economic situations in different regions of the world by creating job opportunities through plastic waste collection.
Supports environmental stewardship and circular economy.
