Madrid, Spain – March 3, 2026

Valid, a leading global provider of secure digital solutions, today announced the selection of Infineon Technologies’ newly introduced TEGRION TM SLx22 secure elements for the development and certification of its SGP.32-compliant eSIM OS. This milestone reinforces the long-standing strategic partnership between Valid and Infineon and positions Valid to become the first company to complete eSA certification (GSMA security accreditation for SGP.32 eSIM OS solutions) for a solution based on this next-generation chip.

The SGP.32-enabled product is targeting mass production readiness from Q3 2026, addressing the rapidly growing demand for secure, scalable, and future-proof IoT connectivity across multiple verticals, including the highly demanding automotive market.

A Strategic Partnership Driving the Future of IoT

The selection of Infineon´s TEGRION TM SLx22 family further strengthens the strategic collaboration between Valid and Infineon, built around a shared vision to deliver cutting-edge secure technologies for the IoT ecosystem. By combining Infineon’s latest secure hardware innovation with Valid’s expertise in eSIM operating systems and certification, the two companies aim to accelerate time-to-market for advanced IoT deployments worldwide.

This partnership specifically targets complex and mission-critical IoT use cases, such as automotive, industrial, smart infrastructure, and connected devices, where security, reliability, and long-term scalability are non-negotiable. This initiative reinforces Valid´s commitment to shaping the next generation of IoT connectivity architectures under GSMA SGP.32.

Infineon´s TEGRION TM SLx22 family: A New Benchmark for Secure IoT Connectivity

Infineon´s SLx22 family represent a new generation of secure elements designed from the ground up for IoT applications. Compared to existing secure elements from Infineon and other semiconductor vendors, the SLx22 family deliver a unique combination of high-end capabilities and cost efficiency, setting a new benchmark in the market.

Key advantages include:

  • Future-proof architecture: the SLx22 family are the first secure elements specifically designed for IoT with native support for Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), enabled by enhanced memory capacity and dedicated cryptographic accelerators.
  • Exceptional reliability: The chips enable the lowest defect rates that are a critical requirement for automotive-grade deployments and long lifecycle applications.
  • Cost-effective high-end performance: the SLx22 family delivers advanced security features with an optimized cost-performance balance, enabling large-scale IoT rollouts without compromising on security or performance.
  • Flexible form factors: In addition to traditional MFF2, plug-in (triple-cut), and wafer-level options, the SLx22 family is available in MFF3, a standardized 3 × 3 mm package — significantly smaller than the widely used MFF2 (6 × 5 mm) — enabling more compact device designs.

“We are proud to collaborate with Infineon on the development of this next-generation solution specifically tailored to address the evolving needs of the IoT market,” said Jose Manuel Castro, SVP of OEM Sales at Valid. “By combining Infineon’s innovative SLx22 secure elements with Valid’s SGP.32 expertise, we are delivering a best-in-class eUICC product that offers advanced security, future-proof capabilities, and outstanding reliability — all at a very competitive price point. This achievement further strengthens Valid’s position as one of the leading players in the IoT eUICC space.”

“SGP.32 represents a major step forward in enabling secure, scalable IoT connectivity across industries,” said Tolgahan Yildiz, VP Product Line Trusted Mobile Connectivity and Transactions at Infineon Technologies. “With our TEGRIONTM SLx22 family, we designed secure elements specifically optimized for the next generation of IoT use cases, combining long-term security, reliability, and cost efficiency. Our collaboration with Valid demonstrates how close alignment between secure hardware and eSIM operating systems is essential to accelerate real-world SGP.32 deployments, particularly in demanding environments such as automotive and industrial IoT.”
