eSIM for IoT & Consumer

Powering Consumer Electronics, M2M & IoT with Secure eSIMs

We offer cutting-edge eSIM solutions for Consumers, IoT Connectivity & M2M projects. Our secure, scalable eSIM products optimize reliability across the mobile ecosystem.
WHAT IS AN eSIM?

An eUICC, also known as embedded SIM, is a secure element designed to remotely manage mobile subscriptions across the lifespan of devices.

As the evolution of SIM cards, the eSIMs incorporate end-to-end encryption and strong authentication technology to securely identify and authenticate devices to mobile networks, making connections resistant to security breaches. Combined with a Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) platform, eSIMs empower consumers with flexible and convenient subscription activation and management options, and enterprises with streamlined device provisioning processes and enhanced security measures for IoT deployments.

eSIM: the catalyzer of improved customer experiences and seamless connectivity

eSIM

The framework residing inside the physical SIM (regardless of its form factor) that allows remote download, installation, modification or deletion of by subscription profiles.

  • Subscription Management Data Preparation

The SM-DP+ is responsible for the secure creation, generation, download and management of SIM Profiles.

    SM-DP+
  • Device Manufacturer

The OEM plays the role of the DM and is responsible for ensuring that a device is capable of interfacing between the consumer and the eUICC. The DM has no hardware changes to implement in relation to RSP. In consumer usage, the DM has to implement a software agent called LPA (Local Profile Agent) that provides, notably a user interface.

    DM
  • Mobile Network Operator

The Mobile Network Operator provides the SIM Profile characteristics to the EUM, and will also have access to the SM-DP+.

    MNO
  • The traditional SIM Manufacturer becomes an EUM, who ensures that each eSIM conforms to security standards and is configured according to the needs of each MNO.

IoT Connectivity

In order to massively implement IoT project, seamless digital workflows are imperative across all industries, spanning from device manufacturing to connectivity activation. Valid’s IoT Connectivity features are designed to support connectivity enablement since the first connection and lifecycle management for IoT devices.

Bootstrap Connectivity:

Providing global and on-demand connectivity solutions for IoT devices, the bootstrap connectivity feature enables seamless loading of customized mobile profiles during in-field commissioning and device lifespan. It also eliminates manual subscription loading via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, simplifying devices, ensuring global coverage, and offering fallback and complementary connectivity options, including temporary/on-demand connectivity.

In Factory Profile Provisioning (IFPP):

IFPP is an innovative approach that facilitates the integration of device and region-specific mobile profiles onto secure elements during device production, transforming the landscape of IoT manufacturing. It ensures high security and eliminates the need for specific production environment certifications as well as simplifies supply chain logistics, offering out-of-the-factory connectivity, production flexibility, and reduced complexity.

BENEFITS TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS

Enhanced Device Flexibility:

eSIMs provide flexibility by allowing multiple profiles on a single device. Users can have separate profiles for personal and business use or switch between different service plans easily.

Streamlined Onboarding

eSIMs simplify the process of onboarding new devices. Users can scan a QR code or use a mobile app to activate their devices, reducing the time and effort required for setup.

Improved Roaming Services

eSIMs can connect to multiple carrier networks worldwide. Users can switch between networks without changing physical SIMcards, which is especially beneficial for travelers and international businesses.

Higher Security

eSIMs are soldered or embedded into devices, making them more secure compared to physical SIMcards which can be removed when a device is stolen. eSIMs also make the device better protected from cyber-attacks and hacking.

Eco-Friendly

By reducing the need for physical SIMcard production and distribution, eSIMs contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing plastic waste and energy consumption.

Flexible Contract Management

eSIMs make it easier for users to switch carriers or service plans without needing a new SIMcard. This flexibility can lead to more competitive pricing and service offerings from carriers.

Improved logistics

One single eSIM SKU can cover the whole IoT geographical scope avoiding multiple device variants reducing stock and distribution costs.
