Valid Achieves GSMA eSA Certification for Its SGP.32 IoT eUICC Based on Infineon’s TEGRION™ SLx22
By Valid
Madrid, Spain – August 27 2026 – Valid, a global provider of trusted connectivity solutions, has achieved GSMA eSA certification for its IoT eUICC based on Infineon Technologies’ TEGRION™ SLx22 secure element. The certification makes Valid the first company worldwide to achieve GSMA eSA certification for an eUICC solution using this chip family. It also delivers on the certification roadmap announced by Valid during MWC Barcelona earlier this year and represents another important milestone in the company’s SGP.32 strategy.

Designed specifically for IoT, industrial and automotive applications, the TEGRION™ SLx22 provides the secure hardware foundation for a new generation of connected devices. Combined with Valid’s SGP.32-compliant eUICC operating system, the solution helps device manufacturers, connectivity providers and enterprises deploy secure and interoperable IoT connectivity at scale.

Independent Security Assurance for IoT eSIM Deployments

As connected devices are deployed across increasingly complex and long-lasting use cases, security must be considered throughout the entire eSIM lifecycle—from the secure element and its operating system to remote profile provisioning and ongoing connectivity management.

The GSMA eUICC Security Assurance, or eSA, scheme provides independent assurance that an eUICC product meets GSMA-defined security requirements. The certification process includes a comprehensive security evaluation conducted by an accredited laboratory, with certification subsequently confirmed by an authorized certification body.

Achieving GSMA eSA certification therefore provides Valid’s customers and technology partners with independently verified assurance regarding the security of the company’s IoT eUICC solution.

“Completing the GSMA eSA certification of our IoT eUICC based on Infineon’s TEGRION™ SLx22 represents an important achievement for Valid and delivers on the roadmap we announced earlier this year,” said José Manuel Castro, SVP of IoT & OEM Sales at Valid. “By combining Infineon’s secure-element technology with Valid’s expertise in eSIM operating systems and SGP.32, we are providing customers with a secure, interoperable and future-ready foundation for large-scale IoT deployments.”

Supporting the Transition to SGP.32

The GSMA SGP.32 architecture has been designed to simplify the remote management of eSIM connectivity across IoT devices while supporting greater flexibility, interoperability and scalability.

These capabilities are particularly important for applications such as automotive, smart metering, industrial equipment, logistics, healthcare and connected infrastructure, where devices may remain operational for many years and need to securely change or update connectivity without physical intervention.

Valid’s certified IoT eUICC forms an essential part of the company’s broader SGP.32 proposition, which also includes its eSIM IoT Remote Manager, or eIM, for standards-based remote profile and lifecycle management.

Strengthening Valid’s End-to-End Security Credentials

This achievement further strengthens the comprehensive set of independent security and compliance credentials supporting Valid’s IoT connectivity portfolio.

In addition to the new GSMA eSA certification, these credentials include the GlobalPlatform functional certification of Valid’s SGP.32 eUICC operating system, GSMA SAS-UP certification for secure eUICC production and personalization, and GSMA SAS-SM certification covering the company’s secure remote subscription management operations.

The scope of Valid’s GSMA SAS-SM certification was recently extended to include its eSIM IoT Remote Manager for the first time.

Together, these certifications provide assurance across complementary elements of the eSIM ecosystem—from secure eUICC production and personalization to remote subscription and connectivity lifecycle management.

This latest achievement reflects Valid’s continued investment in secure, standards-compliant and interoperable connectivity solutions, as well as the close collaboration of its product, engineering, security, certification and operations teams with technology partners including Infineon.
